Noor Naga is an Alexandrian writer who was born in Philadelphia, raised in Dubai, studied in Toronto, and now lives in Cairo. She is winner of the Bronwen Wallace Award, the RBC/PEN Canada Award, and the Disquiet Fiction Prize, and her work has been published in Granta, POETRY, The Walrus, The Common, and more. Her verse-novel Washes, Prays, which won the Pat Lowther Memorial Award and an Arab American Book Award, was published by McClelland & Stewart in 2020. Her debut novel If an Egyptian Cannot Speak English won the Graywolf Press Africa Prize and is forthcoming in April 2022 from Graywolf Press. She teaches at the American University in Cairo.

نور نجا كاتبة إسكندرية ولدت في فيلادلفيا، ونشأت في دبي، ودرست في تورونتو، وتعيش الآن في القاهرة. وهي الفائزة بجائزة برونوين والاس، وجائزة RBC/PEN Canada، وجائزة الخيال المقلق، وقد نشرت أعمالها في غرانتا، والشعر، والفظ، والمشترك، وأكثر من ذلك. نشرت ماكليلاند وستيوارت روايتها الشعرية "واشس، صلي"، التي فازت بجائزة بات لوثر التذكارية وجائزة الكتاب العربي الأمريكي، في عام 2020. وقد فازت روايتها الأولى "إذا كان مصري لا يستطيع التحدث باللغة الإنجليزية" بجائزة غرايوولف برس أفريكا، ومن المقرر صدورها في أبريل 2022 من مطبعة غرايوولف. وهي تدرس في الجامعة الأمريكية في القاهرة.
