Biographies of Randa Habib

Randa Habib, a French journalist of Lebanese origin, has spent twenty-five years covering war, politics and economic development in the Middle East. Director of the Amman bureau of Agence France Presse since 1987, she has reported extensively from Iraq and other areas of conflict and interviewed royalty and leaders throughout the region. Habib was the first to interview King Abdullah when he ascended the throne. She also broke the story that it would be Abdullah, King Hussein’s son, who would succeed him, and not Hussein’s brother, Crown Prince Hassan. She was awarded the ‘Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite’ in 2001 by President Jacques Chirac and the ‘Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur’ in 2008 by President Nicolas Sarkozy.

رندة حبيب (بالفرنسية: Randa Habib)‏ (ولدت في بيروت) هي صحفية لبنانية-فرنسية. كانت مديرة مكتب وكالة فرانس برس في عماّن، الأردن. النشأة والدراسة ولدت رندة حبيب في بيروت لفريد حبيب، سفير لبنان سابقا في يوغسلافيا واليونان وفنزويلا والبرازيل والعراق ولهند تامر. درست المرحلة الابتدائية في بيروت ونالت الثانوية في ريو دي جانيرو في البرازيل، حيث كان والدها يعمل سفيرا للبنــان هناك. وحصلت على البكالوريوس في العلوم السياسية والإدارة من جامعة القديس يوسف في بيروت. المسيرة المهنية عملت في بداية مشوارها...

رندا حبيب مديرة مكتب وكالة الصحافة الفرنسية في عمان وعضو مجلس إدارة مؤسّسة وكالة الصحافة الفرنسية العالمية.لبنانية الأصل، فرنسية الجنسية حائزة شهادة في العلوم السياسية وإدارة الأعمال. أمضت ربع قرن في تغطية الحروب والتطوّرات الاقتصادية والسياسية في الشرق الأوسط وقابلت أفراد العائلات المالكة وكبار المسؤولين في المنطقة. أسّست أوّل نادٍ للصحافة الأجنبية في الأردن عام 1996. منحها الرئيس الفرنسي عام 2001 وسام الاستحقاق الوطني برتبة فارس. صدر لها عن دار الساقي: "الحسين أباً وابناً".
