Nathaniel E. Miller

Nathaniel A. Miller has a PhD in Arabic literature from the University of Chicago (2016) and taught and researched at the University of Cambridge from 2016โ€“2021. He is currently a research fellow in Arabic Humanities at New York University Abu Dhabi. He specializes in pre-modern Arabic poetry, with a particular research focus on the interpretation of space and geography in two periods, the pre- and early Islamic (500โ€“750) and the Ayyubid (1171โ€“1250). His articles have appeared or are forthcoming in Arabica, Mediterranean Studies, Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society, Bulletin of the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), and al-'Usur al-Wusta. He translates Arabic poetry daily on Twitter @ClassyArabic.
