Nawal El Saadawi (1931–2021) was an internationally renowned feminist writer and activist from Egypt. She founded and became president of the Arab Women’s Solidarity Association and co-founded the Arab Association for Human Rights. Among her numerous roles in public office she served as Egypt’s National Director of Public Health and stood as a candidate in the 2004 Egyptian presidential elections. El Saadawi held honorary doctorates from the universities of York, Illinois at Chicago, St Andrews and Tromso, and her numerous awards include the Council of Europe North-South Prize, the Women of the Year Award (UK), Sean MacBride Peace Prize (Ireland), and the National Order of Merit (France). She wrote over fifty novels, short stories and non-fiction works which centre on the status of Arab women, which have been translated into more than thirty languages.

Nawal El Saadawi is feminist writer, activist, physician and psychiatrist. Born in Egypt, she trained as a doctor, has worked as a psychiatrist and university lecturer, and has published nearly 50 plays, novels and short story collections. تخرجت نوال من كلية الطب جامعة القاهرة في ديسمبر عام 1955 وحصلت على بكالوريوس الطب والجراحة وتخصصت في مجال الأمراض الصدرية وعملت كطبيبة امتياز بالقصر العيني، تزوجت في نفس العام من أحمد حلمي زميل دراستها في الكلية. لم يستمر الزواج لفترة طويلة فانتهى بعدها بعامين. وعندما سُئلت عنه في إحدى حواراتها قالت:«زوجي الأول كان عظيماً، زميلي في كلية الطب. كان رائعاً، والد ابنتي. لم يرد والدي مني أن أتزوجه لأنه غادر إلى السويس لمحاربة البريطانيين. لكن بعد ذلك تم خيانة المقاتلين، والكثير منهم تم حبسه. هذه الأزمة كسرته وأصبح مدمناً. وأخبرت أنني لو تزوجته، قد يوقف إدمانه، لكنه لم يفعل. حاول قتلي، لذا تركته».تزوجت مرة ثانية من رجل قانون ولم يستمر هذا الزواج أيضا.خلال عملها طبيبةً لاحظت المشاكل النفسية والجسدية للمرأة الناتجة على الممارسة القمعية للمجتمع والقمع...

نوال السعداوي (27 أكتوبر 1931 — 21 مارس 2021)، طبيبة أمراض صدرية، وطبيبة أمراض نفسية، وكاتبة وروائية مصرية مدافعة عن حقوق الإنسان عمومًا وحقوق المرأة خصوصًا. كتبت العديد من الكتب عن المرأة في الإسلام، اشتهرت بمحاربتها لظاهرة ختان الذكور والإناث. أسست جمعية تضامن المرأة العربية عام 1982، كما ساعدت في تأسيس المؤسسة العربية لحقوق الإنسان. استطاعت نوال أن تنال ثلاث درجات فخرية من ثلاث قارات. ففي عام 2004 حصلت على جائزة الشمال والجنوب من مجلس أوروبا. وفي عام 2005 فازت بجائزة إينانا الدولية من بلجيكا،...

نوال السعداوي كاتبة مصرية معروفة عالمياً ومدافعة عن حقوق الإنسان وحقوق المرأة خاصة. تخرّجت من كلّية الطب-جامعة القاهرة. عملت عام 1955 طبيبة امتياز بالقصر العيني، ثم فُصلت بسبب آرائها وكتاباتها. قدّمت للمكتبة العربية أكثر من 40 كتاباً ترجمتها إلى 30 لغة. صدر لها عن دار الساقي: "الحب في زمن النفط"، "سقوط الإمام"، "زينة"، "مذكّرات طفلة".

نوال السعداوي (ولدت في 27 أكتوبر 1930)، طبيبة، ناقدة وكاتبة وروائية مصرية ومدافعة عن حقوق الإنسان وحقوق المرأة بشكل خاص. ولدت في مدينة القاهرة، وتخرجت من كلية الطب جامعة القاهرة في ديسمبر 1954، وحصلت على بكالوريوس الطب والجراحة وتخصصت في مجال الأمراض الصدرية. وفى عام 1955 عملت كطبيبة امتياز بالقصر العيني، ثم فُصلت بسبب آراءها وكتاباتها وذلك ب‍6 قرارات من وزير الصحة، متزوجة من الدكتور شريف حتاتة وهو طبيب وروائي ماركسي اعتقل في عهد الرئيس عبد الناصر.
